Hey There
It's not easy to find a therapist who can light your path. A great therapist is comfortable, insightful, and skillful in applying just the right amount of light you need in a moment. You may know a little, or a lot, about what you need. I am here to help illuminate that for you by also shining a light on what has shaped my insight, skill and comfortability in the counseling profession.
My Story
I don't like the words broken, or shattered...at least in reference to a static human condition. I believe deeply in the healing power of the triune human body (spirit, soul, body), nature, community, and spirituality. It was through a journey of healing chronic health conditions that I gained respect for the body's ability to heal itself, and how alternative health modalities, nature, community, and spirituality impact that process.

I have deep compassion for mental dysfunction as I have walked through fear-invoking brain injury symptoms, dissociation, and the all-too-common medical trauma involved with navigating disconnected, uncaring, and inadequately educated western healthcare providers.

These experiences birthed a desire to provide integrative holistic care for adults struggling with mental dysfunction, and one day build a team of alternative and western healthcare providers for a truly holistic and integrated wellness community.

This desire fueled my pursuit of a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, while working and raising children as a single mother. My educational journey was incredibly formative of awareness of my power and presence in a therapeutic setting, due to its inclusion of self-care and personal development, multi-cultural spiritual integration, and professional mentoring. I had the privilege of training in integrated substance recovery and integrated inpatient psychiatric settings in Denver, Colorado. For licensure in Colorado and South Carolina, I continued professional growth through supervisory relationships with compassionate and esteemed leaders and educators. Mentors, peers, and supervisory relationships have fueled my passion for holistic care, leading me to ancillary training in EMDR, DNMS, experiential therapy, somatic therapy, dissociation and parts work, and spiritual integration.

So, in my story please note the importance of community. I understand what it feels like to have none, moving to Colorado in my twenties as a single mother with no local friends or family, and slowly investing in life-giving relationships. I understand the effort it takes to build community, and the richness of sharing life with a good one.

This perspective informs how much I treasure the opportunity to share life with my clients. While I have a large toolbox of techniques and resources, my primary goal is to impart the richness of community. Community that holds space for all parts and states of you, without judgment or rigid expectations. I believe deeply in the psyche's ability to reveal what is needed in this moment, and the importance of cultivating gentleness and compassion towards self.

I treasure the opportunity to partner with adult clients desiring to improve relationships, heal from trauma, improve thought patterns, and navigate life transitions or loss. With a holistic, trauma-informed lens, I utilize somatic, CBT, DBT, parts work, EMDR and DNMS. In plain language, my approach focuses on improving emotional capacity through strengthening a mind-body connection with emotion and thoughts, and integrating positive beliefs and emotional experiences into areas of trauma and disordered thought.

I am excited about the exponential growth in collective understanding of mind-body connection contributing to wholeness and compassionate care for ourselves and our world.
